Energy Conservation Print E-mail

GreenPlumbers® is an innovative initiative developed by the Master Plumbers' and Mechanical Services Association of Australia. A series of workshops have been designed to enhance plumbers' skills and knowledge about the environmental considerations of their work and is an initiative of the Master Plumbers' & Mechanical Services Association of Australia.

The Green Plumber Climate Protection Project is all about reducing household Greenhouse Gas emissions, through the increased use of energy efficient appliances.

These training opportunities place plumbers in a better position to advise and inform consumers on topics such as: the benefits of energy efficiency; water conservation or the most appropriate and cost effective appliances to suit individual needs.

The Green Plumber Program has trained in excess of 4000 plumbers. For more information on training, contact staff at the Plumbing Industries Climate Action Centre (PICAC) in Brunswick Victoria on 03 9356 8921.

Sustainability Victoria

Sustainability Victoria assists in delivering the Government's vision to position Victoria as a world leader in sustainability.

The Department leads the state's effort to use limited natural resources in a sustainable manner and to improve productivity: doing more with less. Sustainability Victoria is also addressing the sustainability of the ecological systems of the state.

Sustainability Victoria focuses on sustainability as a key driver in its own activities. This is a critical prerequisite if it is to successfully influence the actions of other government agencies, businesses, other levels of government, Victorian communities, households and individuals.
